The Five Trailhead Sheets
Each sheet has a route description, a list of popular hikes with distance, difficulty and elevation gain, and the trail rules:
- Beacon Rock and River to Rock Trailhead (PDF): Beacon Rock, River to Rock and Doetsch. See Beacon Rock Trail.
- Hamilton Mountain Trailhead (PDF): waterfalls, summit and loops. See Hamilton Mountain.
- Hadley Trailhead (PDF): Little Beacon Rock and the campground routes.
- Equestrian Trailhead (PDF): West Hardy, Hardy Ridge, Bridge Trail Loop, The Saddle.
- Doetsch Walking Path Trailhead (PDF). See Doetsch Day Use Area.
Reading the Distances
The trailhead sheets give round-trip distances for out-and-back hikes. Where an older map and a newer sheet differ (Beacon Rock's elevation gain is one example), this guide uses the distance both agree on and leaves the disputed number out.
Trail Rules on Every Sheet
Trails open 8 a.m. to dusk. Backcountry camping is prohibited. Each trail is marked for foot traffic only or for multi-use. See rules and regulations.
